Christmas elf project
Once again, I am working with the Pediatric Oncology Unit at the Childrens Hospital at St. Francis asking for volunteers for the annual Christmas Elf Project. Volunteers will sponsor a child and/or their siblings from Tulsa and the surrounding areas who have been diagnosed with cancer. As an elf, you will receive information about the child i.e. name, age, grade in school, their favorite likes (color, characters, music etc) along with a list of a few things they would like for Christmas. We have told the parents that the volunteer will spend approximately $50.00-$75.00 on each child. As an elf, you would shop for the child and wrap the gifts (giving me a list of the items purchased.) I can pick the gifts up or meet you somewhere, and I will then distribute to the childs parents. If you are interested please email me and I will send you a child to adopt as I receive their paperwork from their parents. I ask that you shop as soon as possible and return the gifts to me by Dec. 15th so I can get them to the parents in plenty of time for Christmas. I believe I will have approximately 40 to 50 children needing elves in the next few weeks so please let me know if you want to help make a childs Christmas a little brighter this year. Call me if you have any questions.
Thanks so much!
The TAHU Media/PR Committee is doing everything it can to make the public aware of the availability of licensed, certified TAHU agents to help consumers navigate the Federal Health Insurance Marketplace Exchange. Through these and other news spots, our PR firm, Diane White PR, has arranged for us, we are getting the word out about our new website www.yourokagent.org, where consumers can go to locate a local, licensed and certified TAHU agent.
If you are a licensed, certified TAHU agent, you need to register at www.yourokagent.org to be listed in the online directory. The cost is minimal, only $125 a year (about $10 a month). It will be well worth your investment as leads are already starting to come in. And it will only get busier once the healthcare.gov website becomes operational. So don't miss out. Did you know anyone can use Operation Shout? That's right, even your clients can use Operation Shout. When there's important legislation about to be voted on, our legislators need to hear from everyone, not just NAHU/TAHU members!
Through our national association, a program has been developed to allow you to interact by email with your local, state or federal legislators. Operation Shout gives you all the necessary information to communicate with your legislators. It will look up your legislators by your home zip code and gives you sample letters to use for many issues. You can create your own letter as well. One click of the mouse and you have access to get your thoughts and opinions on current legislative issues to those in office.
Operation Shout is also set up to notify NAHU/TAHU members when there is an issue up for voting that requires attention. Be informed, share your thoughts and take advantage of this simple-to-use tool!
Remember to bring a printout of your Operation Shout Confirmation to the next Monthly Membership meeting for a chance to win a giftcard!
